How to take engaging and high-quality photos for your offer?

A picture is worth a thousand words. It's a very hackneyed saying, but still very true. The best description, choice of colourful words and original formulations are no substitute for a quality photo. Perfect presentation of the promotion should be a matter of course, because good pictures are the best sales argument. Show your customers that it is really worth buying your goods and using your services.

What does the ideal photo look like?

  • For an attractive and eye-catching promotion from you, we need preferably five to six high-quality photos, but at least four. We will use the best photo for the offer banner and the others for the gallery.
  • If you can, always use a camera rather than a mobile phone. Camera images will be of higher quality and easier to edit.

  • Use the highest possible photo resolution, but at least 2,000 × 1,000 ob (600 kB)
  • Try to capture the subject or room from different angles.
  • Always shoot in landscape, then we can work with the photo better, cropping and editing it. Don't use any filters or adjustments yourself, leave it to our experienced graphic designers.

  • If possible, prefer to shoot in daylight, but be careful of direct sunlight so that the photo is not overexposed.
  • Make sure the photos are sharp.
  • If you have had your listing or establishment photographed by a professional, please send us photos of the highest quality from them.
  • Photos must be in colour, not black and white, and must not contain any text, watermarks or brand copyright.

What to capture and what not to capture?

  • Photos must best represent your promotion. There should be nothing in the photo that is not related to the promotion. For example, if you promote a menu with roast chicken and chips, don't take photos of them with a salad or drink that is not part of the menu.
  • Capture the whole menu as you will actually sell it. Customers want to see what they're actually getting. For example, if you take a photo of chicken and chips and then decide to change the side dish at the last minute, you can't use that photo.
  • Be careful what is in the background of the photo.

  • If there are people in the photo, you must have their permission to use the image for sales and advertising purposes.
  • Avoid photographing signs. The logos of various beverage brands, such as Coca Cola and the like, must not appear in the images.

Our graphic designers use the Shutterstock photo bank to make your offers look more attractive, for example, to get background photos for merchandise or illustrative themed photos. However, there is no substitute for your own high-quality photos, which are a prerequisite for running your event. However, do not, under any circumstances, download photos from Google or other sources to which you do not have the rights. We can't and don't want to use them.

What is important when you offer food, services, accommodation or goods?

Gastro

  • The minimum size of the photos is 2000 × 1000, size min. 600 kB
  • We need a minimum of 4 high quality photos to run your offer. We will use one for the main banner and one for the preview.
  • Above all, make sure the food looks fresh and appealing. If you wouldn't even choose it yourself based on the photo, try to take different photos.

  • Ideally, capture the entire menu you're offering, preferably from multiple angles, and then each dish you offer separately.
  • Pay attention to what you're placing the plates on. A clean table is best, with no other decorations, brightly coloured tablecloths or the like.
  • Try to get the whole plates in the picture, as well as a little space around them, so that the photo can be cropped to the necessary dimensions.

  • The picture should not show any logos, for example of drinks such as Coca Cola etc. If the drink is part of the menu, pour it into a glass and take the photo that way.
  • Don't forget to present your restaurant or café as such. A photo of the interior and exterior is ideal. Preferably try multiple photos from different angles so that we can choose the most attractive one.

Goods

  • For the presentation of your goods we need two formats: a wide photo for the main banner and then images of the individual variants.
  • The ideal size of the image for the banner is 2000 × 1000 ob, size min. 600 kB. The photo for the banner should contain a selection of variants on a nice background, or on a white background, which our graphic designers will edit.

  • The ideal size of the photos of each product variant is 2000 × 2000 ob, size min. 600 kB. You can take photos in landscape format, we crop them to square format ourselves. Just take into account that the item must fit into the square cutout.

  • Too much creativity in this case is rather detrimental, take the item on a monochrome, ideally white background to make the item itself stand out.
  • Pay attention to the condition of the goods when taking the photo, they should be unpacked, clean, clothes should not be wrinkled and there should be no visible tags.

Services

  • The minimum size of the photos is 2000 × 1000 ob, size min. 600 kB

  • Your offer must contain at least 4 photos - one main photo for the banner and at least three photos for the preview.
  • Don't forget a picture of your establishment. Try taking a photo from several different angles to make sure the interior looks clean and tidy. Look out for little things like a bucket and mop leaning in the corner, an unfinished snack left on the reception desk or smudges on the glass table, etc. ;)

  • Do not create any collages yourself, for example "before" and "after" pictures for offers such as beauty and hairdressing services, car interior cleaning and the like. Please send us the photos you want to use for this demonstration separately, one by one.

Travel

  • The minimum size of the photos is 2000 × 1000, size min. 600 kB
  • Show potential guests as much of your hotel or guesthouse as possible, so they have something to decide for you.

  • Of course, photos of the rooms themselves, the restaurant and the building should be included, and don't forget to include the children's play area, gym or playground and spa, for example, if guests can use them.
  • Make sure to keep the interior clean when taking photos. The picture should not include a forgotten vacuum cleaner, unmade beds, drawn curtains, unmade trash cans, etc.

  • Entice guests to take pictures of the hotel's surroundings, nature or landmarks that will be nearby, ideally taken in multiple seasons.
